STAR has been a pivotal partner for us in our automation journey. The partnership we have built on these automation areas around Invoice Matching, Proof of Delivery (POD) attachments & MTR attachments will increase our internal productivity and allow other aspects of the system to work more efficiently in parallel. This has been a partnership where we have continued to evolve the base STAR platform offerings to work for our user cases. We will continue to work with STAR on many more automation areas in the future.

MTR Automation

Overall rating of the application: “It’s hard for me to give anyone/thing a 10/10 but they are pretty darn close.  Maybe 9/10.”
I have nothing but positive feedback.  They are very responsive, always willing to help me with any issue I send to them, and in a timely fashion.
I very rarely have to reach out and ask for an update on an issue they may be working on for me.  They usually tell me if a problem will take more than a day or so to review and fix, which is very rare.  Most issues are resolved within hours.
Even when they are out on holiday, they still respond.

Challenges

Prior to implementing Star’s MTR checking solution we manually checked each individual MTR.This review could often take hours for large inbound shipments. It was also highly susceptible
to human error since MTR checking is an extremely detail oriented process.
We had a checklist of over 25+ different items that had to be checked on each MTR.
Completing this task was even more complicated given that each vendor has their own
reporting format and information on each vendor’s MTR can be in a different place.

Implementation Process

The implementation of this new software tool went smoothly. We provided our specifications,
proprietary check criteria, and training data to the team. Over time, they trained the models on
our data and even automated workflow to sync these MTRs within our ERP system.

Current Scenario

The new system has dramatically reduced errors, identified errors vendor’s did not even
recognized, and reduced the amount of time required to properly check an inbound set of
MTRs from hours to minutes. It has dramatically streamlined our process while increasing
accuracy and efficiency.
